Las Fallas is on "Little International
Lane" on Wu-Chang St. between Jian-Xing Rd. and Mai-Ting Street where you
will also find R&G (Red & Green) authentic Mexican, Boulangerie
Bakery's award-winning bread, Thai cuisine, and even a hamburger joint. But
back to Las Fallas: Can you say that your Mediterranean Taichung restaurant
makes its own pesto sauce and mint-apple julep? Fallas does. Can you say your
restaurant offers real zucchini, crab meat, pine nuts, squid ink pasta,
ingredients, couscous and tabbouleh salad? Las Fallas does! You will be
surprised what Chef Tim can whip up for your business lunch or romantic dinner under
a life-sized photo of a Venetian canal. The desserts are homemade, too; vanilla
pana cota, cakes, and fresh brewed espresso cappuccino. I happened upon Las
Fallas and have been back often to relish their dreamy creamy mushroom
linguine. What's more, there is parking nearby. However you go, you won't
regret a light meal at Las Fallas. Just don't be distracted by the crowd in the
grandiose photo on Facebook; the photo's not theirs but everything else is. I’ve been meaning to write a review of his restaurant for a long time. I now have 14 reviews in Trip Advisor.
Tim made
a date with me March 3 to ride bikes. We met an hour earlier because I had to go to a school with the publisher to advise a student about a speech contest she was in. We met as planned on the corner or Dong-Shan and Han-Xi West Road. The weather was perfect for a bike ride and we had a glorious day together. We stopped at a bench and chatted, all in Mandarin, and stopped at a 7-11 for drinks. I led him up the river path and through the streets to the Hou-Feng trail. We crossed the bridge and through the tunnel, but stopped short of going to the horse farm because of time restaints.
